The Wooden Birds have a new EP out called Montague Street, a collection of four songs written early on by Andrew Kenny when he was just beginning to conceive the sound and style of his new project. Montague Street has all the mellow sophistication and clarity of the Birds' mellifluous full-length, Magnolia, and when you download the EP for free here, you can also enter to win a copy of Magnolia on vinyl and tickets to their show at the Tractor on March 12.
The Wooden Birds aren't through with you yet, though. Email them story of your life, and it could very well be the subject of the band's next song. The Birds' website states:
Have you ever thought, "Hey my life is like a song that Andrew Kenny wrote?" OK probably not. But something amazingly beautiful and possibly heart breaking has happened to you and it changed or at least helped create the person you are today and I want to write a song about you. Maybe you went to the North Pole. Maybe you went to jail. Maybe you went to the desert on a horse with no name.
Write your story down at send it to Andrew Kenny at firstname.lastname@example.org. Before March 30th. It could be just the thing.
