Sleater-Kinney Is Back In Action: One New Band, One Solo Project, And One Small Hint Of A Future Reunion

After going defunct four years ago, Olympia's own Sleater-Kinney may be recording a new record - in the next five years or so. That doesn't sound too hopeful, but in a new interview with The Guardian, Carrie Brownstein announced that she's formed a new band with Janet Weiss and two other members. Says Brownstein:

"I just started a new band after taking many much-needed years off from playing. I can't really talk about it that much, but we have seven songs, and there are four of us, and we're based in Portland."
SK's third member, lead singer Corin Tucker, unfortunately doesn't seem to be involved in the new project - she's instead working on a solo record that will be out this fall on Kill Rock Stars.
