As a talented marimba player and vocalist who uses an unconventional instrument and kaleidoscopic imagination to create art that willfully skates outside the margins, Erin Jorgensen is practically peerless in Seattle. Whether she's covering Johnny Thunders songs or collaborating with Caustic Resin's Brett Netson, she's a riveting force always worth watching.

Tonight at 7:30, she performs as part of the Solo Performance Fest at Theatre Off Jackson. She'll be doing a 20-minute piece combining her own arrangement of original compositions, Bach, and Appalachian music. "I am doing a lot of singing and talking," she explains. "Kind of a Laurie Anderson vibe. It's an experiment and the seeds for a full-length show." Tickets are $15 and available via Brown Paper Tickets.
