This week's music section (you know, the one in print and over here) opens with a piece from Kevin Capp that asks "What's it going to take for the city's hip-hop scene to expand beyond the city limits?"

JZ has already chimed into the comments section with: "Who cares if it blows up? We have our own thing here and we're satisfied."

Also in this week's section:

Duff McKagan wraps up the third piece in his series with "Rio Fame." "I grimace sometimes when people make assumptions about how fancy my band (Guns N' Roses) was at that point. How we must've felt like princes, and that everything was handed to us carte blanche. For me, it's a story of "You always want what you don't have."

Hannah Levin goes long on the Soundgarden reunion talk, and chats up bassist Ben Shepherd, who was unsurprisingly mum on the subject.

And in the Short List, we preview upcoming shows from Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, SHIM, Dengue Fever, and others.
