Using familiar songs in film is tricky business. It can set the perfect tone for what's to unfold, but if it's either too contemporary or deeply associated with, say, the artist who originally sang it, it can prove distracting. In the case of horror-comedy Zombieland, they got it just right when they selected Metallica's "For Whom the Bell Tolls" to accompany their ultra-slow-motion opening montage of of zombie kills. Somewhat NSFW and naturally, not for gore-a-phobes:
