New Music out This Week: The Tripwires

The Tripwires, House to House (Spark and Shine)

This local supergroup of sorts actually released House to House a couple weeks ago, but their CD release party is this Friday at the Sunset Tavern, so I figured I'd post it this week. The band is: John Ramberg and Johnny Sangster both on vocals and guitar, Jim Sangster on bass and Mark Pickerel on drums. You might recognize these guys from Screaming Trees (Mark Pickerel), Young Fresh Fellows (Jim Sangster), The Minus Five (John Ramberg) and several other well-loved local acts; Johnny Sangster also produced Mudhoney.

Try before you buy: MySpace. The band does have a website, but they do not have any mp3s posted there.

Yes, U.S.E. is having a Halloween CD release party for Loveworld this week, but that record actually came out last week. I wanted to mention it, though, because it'll be a fun show. Just don't get too attached to your Halloween costume, as it will surely be sullied by other peoples' sweat and possibly other bodily fluids. You've been warned.

Try before you buy: The band's website has a few mp3s in the media section, and the new stuff can be found on MySpace as well.
