Carly Simon's So Humble: How Could I Possibly Sell a Record Without Starbucks

And, since she doesn't think she got enough help from Uncle Howie and friends promoting her album (on Starbucks' Hear Music label, a venture they've since ditched) she's suing, and shows no signs of being willing to take a lifetime supply of cafe lattes for her troubles. In addition to not promoting the album well, Simon says Starbucks hurt her ability to move units of This Kind of Love at full price when the roaster slashed the price of the album, presumably to get them the hell out of stores. We think Simon has a case here. Surely her poor album sales has everything to do with Starbucks and nothing to do with the fact that it ain't, ya know, 1980.
