Should people feel honored or outraged that it was recently confirmed a Kurt Cobain character will be added to Guitar Hero 5? One one hand, you might wonder why he wasn't considered a guitar hero by the makers of this video game a long time ago and be excited that he was finally added to the game. But if you're a purist and still hold on to the anti-corporate stance the band used to have, you might be offended. Either way, the game is scheduled for release on September 1. It's just in time for the 20th Anniversary Bleach reissue and, although the concept might initially seem like a money-grab to some, it will probably help an entire generation of kids who were born after Cobain's death identify with the band.
Apparently, the deal was actually three years in the making and Courtney Love approved it. She also dictated what his wardrobe would be and how his image would turn out in the final product. You can read the link above from Rolling Stone for more on that. But if you want to see what Cobain actually looks like in the game, get an early sneak peak after the jump. I'm curious if people think this is cool or pure blasphemy.
