Last night's show at the Comet was so magnificent that I truly feel sorry for anyone who missed it. My neck hurts, my ears are damaged, and I'm pretty sure those knuckleheads in the front row are responsible for the bruises on my leg, but it was entirely worth it. It's always a thrill to watch a band play on a small stage (or more precisely in this case, on the floor of a historically significant dive bar) when it's evident that they could completely hold their own at an arena rock show. This is a band that truly deserves to be HUGE.
However, if you snoozed on this one, fear not: they'll be back next month! The are playing the Sunset on Friday, August 14 with Lions and Little Cuts, the excellent new punk project from the Shins' Dave Hernandez. You've been warned; tickets are over here.
