Paul Oakenfold co-produced one of two new songs on Madonna's upcoming greatest hits album (which is scheduled for a late September release). The track, titled "Celebration," was played by Oakey during a set at super-club Pacha, in Ibiza, and will be available Aug. 3 to those of us who weren't partying off the coast of Spain. In the meantime, you can check out a live recording of the track apparently made during Oakey's Pacha set at undercover.com.
Although it's too rough to pass final judgment on, "Celebration" doesn't contain any surprises for either Madonna or Oakey fans. (Not that their fans would want to be surprised.) It's big-room stuff and is dominated by booming bass and Madonna's head-back, eyes-closed exaltation to--what else?--celebrate. Picture clubbers dancing at a foam party and you get the idea. Oakey, who's currently on tour with Madonna, is also slated to release a new solo album, titled Pop Killers and featuring Cee-lo and Red Hot Chili Peppers, next year.
