Of all the upcoming world music gigs happening over the next two weeks in Seattle, the one that I'm most excited to see is the Sierra Leone Refugee All Stars who play tonight at Neumos. I've written about their upcoming show on this blog already and have been telling everyone I know that catching this group of refugee reggae musicians at least once in your life is a must. They have such an amazing story, and if you're not familiar with it, you should definitely watch the video that's posted above.
Of course, writing about an upcoming performance and verbally telling people about it is one thing, but having a pair of tickets to give away on the day of the show is even better! So for those interested in checking out the band play tonight, email me with the words Sierra Leone in the subject line and a winner will be chosen at random by 5 p.m. Good luck. Also, they'll be playing on KEXP today at 6 p.m. so be sure to tune in as well.
