So far the prettiest song of the week award goes to Glasgow's Camera Obscura for their latest single, "My Maudlin Career." It's the title track off of their newest album and it's got a perfect indie-pop texture that feels just right on a groggy Monday morning.
Lead singer Tracyanne Campbell's voice hits in all the right places on the song and the fuzzy reverb and Burt Bacharach-styled production behind her all meld together well. The band is actually playing Seattle this Saturday, June 6, at the Showbox and tickets are still available. After listening to this MP3 above, you might want to run out and buy a ticket to catch these ladies and gets performing live.
