Tonight, I will be reading from my debut suspense novel, Seattle's Best Dive Bars: Drinking & Diving in the Emerald City, at the U-District's famous Blue Moon Tavern at 8 p.m. I will be accompanied on synthesizer by Jake Rowe, who tickles the ivories in my brother's band. In order to fully justify Jake's presence onstage, the event will feature the hotly-anticipated debut of the northwest's (world's?) only Peter Cetera tribute band, Et Cetera. Featured in Et Cetera's performance will be a reenactment of the great Ralph Macchio-Billy Zabka showdown from the original Karate Kid, even though the following Oscar-nominated ballad served as the theme from the sequel.
