Public Enemy+The Roots on Jimmy Fallon = Amazing

I got wind of this all-star performance yesterday and tried my best to stay up for it, but inevitably fell asleep. I'd already gone to another incredible hip-hop show last night (Blue Scholars/Common Market--more on that later) and by the time I got home, a rerun of Jay Leno was on, which meant a rerun of Conan O'Brien would have to air after that, just for me to catch a rerun of Jimmy Fallon. Wasn't going to happen. But I did read some of ?uestlove's tweets while I was at the Common Market show and they made this all sound amazing.

So Flavor Flav's 50th birthday was yesterday. And to celebrate, the Roots (who are Jimmy Fallon's house band in case you didn't know) had Public Enemy come out and perform "Bring the Noise." Check out the video after the jump. Even though it's 2009, it's still crazy for me to see hip-hop getting this much love on NBC.
