A (Growing) List Of Seattle Bands Invading SXSW

Hey Marseilles, courtesy jbathimages.com

Even in these trying economic times, we got a little hunk of paper this week to talk about Seattle bands we think will make an impression at SXSW this year. Unfortunately, there are way too many we did NOT have room to talk about who were equally deserving of print love. Anyway, in the past week I've been working on compiling a list of Seattle-area (ish) bands that will be playing the festival--in an official or unofficial capacity--and here it is. I've spent many hours on the Internet searching unofficial showcases, but if by chance I'm missing anyone, by all means let me know and I will add them to my list.

Unfortunately, there's a conflict that means a tough decision is in order (or at least a lot of running around): the badass, 100% free Mess With Texas fest (and thorn in SXSW's side) is happening at Waterloo Park on Saturday, which is also when the awesome South by Seattle festival goes down at the Palm Door. Damn! Obviously, I need to bring a bike with me or something.
