I don't care how much cough syrup he guzzles or how much weed he smokes. Lil Wayne is the man of the moment, thanks to success of Tha Carter III . He's got cake like every day's his birthday. (Check the YouTube video, if you didn't catch the reference.)
His first national arena tour, I Am Music, is winding down and makes its second to last stop this Sunday at our Key Arena. The bill includes performances by T-Pain, Gym Class Heroes, and Keri Hilson. Tickets are still available for $39-$125 from Ticketmaster.
Now, I know the New Orleans hailing rapper has gotta milk his last album for all that it's worth. But I'm a huge fan of his prolific collection of remixes. Here's hoping he includes some recent ones in his set:
M.I.A.'s "Paper Planes"
Nelly Furtado's "Maneater"
One Republic's "Apologize"
Bobby Valentino "Tell Me"
Rumor has it Lil Wayne has made it a tradition to lip sync to Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" while donning a cape at the end of each show. That is so fucking weird that I've got to see it to believe it. And, if he's got time to croon hits from The Bodyguard, surely he can throw me a bone and perform the "Paper Planes" remix.
