I knew that there was a lot of discussion in the music community after local artist John Spalding passed away a couple of weeks ago about organizing benefit concerts to help his widow and family cope with the financial burden that goes along with someone dying of cancer. Unsurprisingly, his talented friends came together quickly to build a very strong, all-ages bill.
Showbox at the Market will host an all-ages concert in memory of Spalding on Friday, January 9. The event will feature local favorites Minus The Bear, Rocky Votolato, Past Lives, Triumph of Lethargy Skinned Alive To Death and other special guests.
All ticket proceeds will benefit the John D. Spalding Medical Fund. Additional donations to the John D. Spalding Medical Fund can be made at all Bank of America locations.
Tickets will go on sale Saturday, December 6th at 10:00 AM and can be purchased at all Ticketmaster Retail Locations including Fred Meyer and G.I. Joe's, by calling 206-628-0888 or online at www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets are $20.00 and are subject to applicable service charges and event time and date are subject to change. Tickets are also available at Showbox at the Market Box Office, open Monday through Friday, 11am to 6pm (CASH ONLY). Doors for the event open at 7:00pm.
