As a general rule, picking up a documentary featuring commentary from members of Slipknot is not high on my list of viewing priorities, but thanks to a trustworthy fellow at Island Video, I had the unexpected pleasure of coming across Get Thrashed: The Story of Thrash Metal.

If your metal tastes lean sharply away from Reagan-era, L.A. glam and contemporary, Cookie Monster-voiced nu metal, but towards seminal acts like Exodus, Death Angel, Slayer, Nuclear Assault, or Burton-era Metallica, then this is a can't-miss feature for you. Yes, some twat from Slipknot is there adding little to the dialog, but he is counter-balanced by the brainy and funny fellows from Vio-lence who I seriously hope I get the chance to talk to some day.
