The Grouch (of Living Legends), Xperience, Mind Movers, DJ WD4D

Nectar, $12, 8 p.m.

The Grouch may have just become a father a couple of years ago, but his style has always been grown-up. One of the founding members of the Bay Area crew Living Legends (now based in L.A.), the man's slung more rhymes and delivered more records (seven solo records, five collaborations) than, to quote Everlast, "the Bible's got songs." He's deadly to the touch, his beats and lyrics as lapidary as a diamond cutter's most precious creation. No wonder he's long existed as a main man of the West Coast's gangsta-eschewing independent hip-hop movement. For his latest album, Show You the World, released in April, the Grouch tapped a slew of guests, including neo-soul crooner Raphael Saadiq and fellow Legends member MURS, to help him figure out the whole fatherhood thing, a topic that, if not front and center on one of the 15 cuts, looms in the background like a blessed omen.
