Is Anyone Else Pumped For Neil Young?

Neil Young.bmp

Few things in this world get me as excited as a Neil Young show. I first saw the man in 1996, second row at Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. It remains to this day the greatest live music experience of my life. It was a Crazy Horse tour, which meant it was so fucking loud and monstrous I thought the amphitheater would crumble. He ripped off his guitar strings during  the "Like A Hurricane" distortion meltdown and was jabbing them into the pick-ups of his Les Paul while Billy Talbot stomped on his bass. Primal!

Since then, no matter the cost, I go see Neil when he's close to whatever town I'm living in. He's an absolute aloof weirdo who is still the most intense performer around. As with every Neil show, I have my dream list of rare songs I hope he plays. He's pulled a couple out when I least expected him to, such as "Bad Fog of Loneliness" on the 2001 tour and "World On A String" in 1999, so it's always worth a shot to compile a geek list. So here goes...and with the exception of "Motion Pictures", these are in no real order...

1. "Motion Pictures"

2. "Mideast Vacation"

3. "Goin' Home"

4. "Shots"

5. "Lost In Space"

6. "Don't Spook the Horse"

7. "A Dream That Can LAst"

8. "Expecting to Fly"

9. "Grey Riders"

10. "Last Trip to Tulsa"

11. "Misfits"

12. "Citizen Kane Jr. Blues"

13. "Thrasher"

14. "Sea of Madness"

15. "Without Rings"

So, there you go. Any other Neil freaks have a list of songs they like to hear on this tour? Or, if you're just plain excited to see him...light up the comments section below!
