Holy shiznotz, does Portland's MusicfestNW boast a stellar cast of super-hip indie bands this weekend. It's like the nightclub version of Bumbershoot, except without Fergie, Miranda July and Sean Paul. There's Roky Erickson, Rilo Kiley, Bobby Bare Jr., Ghostface Killah, Deerhunter, Aqueduct, Grizzly Bear, Tiny Vipers, Viva Voce -- the list goes on (and on). But most importantly, my 'lil bro, Tim, is playing a club called Slabtown on Saturday. "Slab" is one of my favorite terms, dating back to when I bro'd down at my frat at UW. It was a term we bros used to refer to lazy pledges. Plus my main bro Brian's motivational speaking comedy troupe, the Power Points, recently played a gig at Slabtown. Fuck yeah, bra. Musicfest gonna rock.
