You have plans on Thursday.

Part of the original motivation for this post was simply to make that frightening image of Steve Winwood disappear (sorry Chris), but I also just finished writing my column and ran out of space to mention the killer show the Crocodile has lined up this Thursday. It's a birthday party for sweetheart superfan and local music blogger Dagmar, and features three bright young bands that are more than worth the $7 cover charge.

Lesbionic hip hop duo Team Gina will open the show, followed by rambunctious rural rockers Feral Children. The Pleasureboaters (pictured above, looking very un-Winwoodlike) will headline, and if you have yet to witness the whiplash-inducing beauty of this ferociously talented local band, you are seriously missing out.

I know, I know: Pretty-boy, Brit press darlings Klaxons will be up at Chop Suey, but the temperature in there will be about 120 degrees and the sound at the Croc will be much better, I promise. If you need more convincing, go to the Pleasureboaters page, listen to the song "Elliptical Realism," and tell me I'm wrong--I fucking double-dog dare you.

Update: Chop Suey has air conditioning now. Good move, CS, but I'm still gonna be at the Croc!
