Tonight I'll be attending the screening of Julien Temple's highly-anticipated (and extremely well-reviewed) new documentary about the dearly departed Clash frontman, entitled Joe Strummer: The Future is Unwritten. It looks like there may still be some tickets left via the SIFF website, and you can watch the preview right here:
Prior to the screening, there will also be a Sean Nelson-facilitated Q&A with Temple--tickets for that are available over here. Then on Friday at the Sunset, British journalist Chris Salewicz will read from his exhaustively research biography, Redemption Song: The Ballad of Joe Strummer. You'll be able to read my review of Salewicz's book in the paper tomorrow and the reading is free.
Whew. Now if only we had a drive-in theater where myself and my fellow Clash dorks could watch Westway to the World. That would be awesome.
