Woah Nelly there's a whole lotta crap going on this weekend! I'm starting early style at OKOK Gallery in Ballard- they're usually limited to incredible art openings and crazy books, toys and trinkets but tonight they've got a boy named Ramona playing. I loved Ramona Quimby so much as a babe that I'd go, maybe soley based on that, but his music ain't bad either and I'm hankerin' for a mini Linda's burger (or a King's slider- same diff).
THEN! It's the high energy, cute overload Bkln couple Matt and Kim at Sing Sing at the Chop, or Clipd Beaks at Gallery 1412, P-Funk at the Showbox. Kaos Theory celebrates 6 years with Photek and AK1200 at the Heavens and I'm sure there's hecka more elsewhere. Read more about all these bands/DJs here!
Saturday the Comet do not miss Green Milk From the Planet Orange with Akimbo,Nudity and Unnatural Helpers. Brian has some words to say about Nudity (he would), and as far as I go- Akimbo drummer Nat Damm looking like Animal behind the kit is enough to get me out.
Sunday is effed up. Sebadoh reunion! Original lineup! At Neumo's!! Hannah got down to brass tacks with Eric Gaffney and Lou Barlow for her must-read feature. Before that though- you should bop up to Chop Suey to catch California psych-rockers Ladyhawk and our very own Whalebones as they open for Saturday Looks Good to Me.
Saturday does look good, but I think Sunday's looking better.
