Slint v3.0

Never say never...

Although I shouldn't be particularly shocked when a band claims they'll never, ever play again and then do, I'm still a little surprised that Slint is performing again this summer -- after all, the seminal post-rock group insisted its brief, unlikely 2005 reunion tour was strictly a one-off deal and made a big deal about never playing another show again, even auctioning off their gear on eBay after the tour was over. But no, they're slated to play their landmark Spiderland album in its entirety at the Primavera Sound Festival in Spain in early June, and again in London in August for All Tomorrow's Parties' Don't Look Back 2007 event (which also features Sonic Youth performing Daydream Nation in its entirety).  Perhaps similar such performances here in the States are in the works; that would be cool, since Slint's 2005 gig at the Showbox was pretty damn great.  But please, no more of this Roger Clemens/Junior Seau "retirement" routine, okay?
