They Could Be From Rolling Stone

Two local writers are almost famous.

I've been intently following the new MTV reality-doc I'm From Rolling Stone, in which six would-be journos spent the summer fawning for Jann in hope of scoring a year-long Contributing Editor position. You can read contestant bios on the program blog. Most of them are Californians; Colin Stutz, a former Fader magazine intern, is from Eugene, Oregon.

Anyhow, the magazine's actual interns, I presume, are poring over the show's weekly contest, in which viewers can submit writing assignments along with each contestant. The finalists' entries are posted on said blog each week and a winner is later chosen. Last week's assignment was to describe the music scene in your hometown. Of 20 finalists, Chris Senn writes about Seattle and Chrys Buckley covers Orcas Island. See if they, too, are fit to sharpen Joe Levy's pencils.
