Quincy, come dance with me.I took a lot of shit earlier this week for: (a) suggesting that the Dawgs’ lofty ranking was undeserved, (b) suggesting that Quincy Pondexter might not be a first-round draft pick at season’s end, and (c) suggesting that highly-touted frosh point guard Abdul Gaddy might not be all he’s cracked up to be.With last night’s 99-92 loss to Texas Tech, I think it’s safe to say I’m batting about .667. The Dawgs are sure to drop to the bottom half of the Top 25 for losing to the unranked Red Raiders, and Gaddy posted a line of 0 points, 0 assists, 0 rebounds, and 4 fouls in 10 minutes off the bench. I don’t care if the guy’s 11 years old and wearing purple, that’s just godawful. Last night’s up-tempo affair should have been an opportunity for “the next Jason Kidd/Brandon Roy” to shine. Instead, he sucked, and is hereby declared to be a bust until he proves otherwise. As for Q-Pon (31 ponts): Okay, he’s a pretty good college basketball player. But can he dance? Thankfully, we’ll soon find out, as Pondexter will appear in Pacific Northwest Ballet’s Nutcracker the night before Christmas Eve. If that won’t enhance his draft stock, nothing will.
