While his long-loved alt country band the Old ’97s preps a honky-tonk garage-rock record, Dallas songwriter Rhett Miller is taking to the road with a collection of the prettier songs he’s written of late. He has history with the venue he’ll fill tonight with his heartbroken, whiskey-soaked ballads: It was in The Triple Door’s dressing room that the former Old ’97s frontman wrote “Sleepwalkin’,” a song about a fictional affair with Seattle director Lynn Shelton off his last full-length Dreamer.
