Interesting factoid: Flamingos are pink because they eat shrimp—which contain red pigment. They eat so much damn shrimp that they even piss pink, according to Mark Myers, Woodland Park Zoo’s flamingo expert (yep, there is such a thing). What better way to add color to monochrome Seattle than to import some shrimp-guzzling, pink-pissing feathered friends? Welcome the Chilean flamingos!
