The New Boom City
Posted July 5, 2007 at 10:48 am by Mike SeelyI was in transit during the mega-huge fireworks shows on Lake Union and Elliott Bay last night. But seeing as my neighbors...and my neighbors' neighbors....and my neighbors' neighbors' neighbors seemingly bought out all the Tulalip Tribe's unsafe and insane overstock in advance of Independence Day, the DIY firework shows throughout Pigeon Ridge were like none I'd ever witnessed — to the point where there was a hanging cloud of smoke, visible in the glow of every street light, from the Delridge Community Center all the way to White Center. Still this morning, the air smelled like the aftermath of a fighter plane attack. I'm wondering whether my 'hood is uniquely pyromaniacal, or if Seattle at large is the new Boom City.
