Even if you were drunk off your ass yesterday on green beer or Irish whiskey - or a combo of both - you were probably made aware of the fact the N.C.A.A. men's basketball tournament bracket was unveiled. Yes, it's March, and the madness is about to take hold.
Locally, Gonzaga - the number one seed in the West region - is the only team we have to hang our hat on. For UW fans coming off a miserable - albeit it NIT bound - season, that's probably not very comforting. And numbers wizard Nate Silver probably just made the pain worse.
Yes, for the Gonzaga haters out there is the fact that Silver's NCAA Tourney forecast shows Gonzaga with a 33.4 percent chance of making the Final Four, and a 6.1 percent chance of winning it all. The only teams Silver sees as having a better chance of being crowned champion are Louisville, Indiana, Florida and Kansas.
