Have you heard the new Radiohead album, In Rainbows? If so, you’re not alone. If you haven’t, why the hell not?! Gigwise reported that more than 1.2 million people have downloaded the $0.00 to priceless In Rainbows since it’s digital release two days ago. I don’t want to go into why this is such a punch in the face to the major labels who haven’t seen first week numbers like this at all in the 21st Century. It just goes to show that Radiohead – who recently became free agents – are savvy marketers, who want their music to be heard, regardless of money and label politics.I just got my hands on the album and have just began to take ’em in. I hate the sound quality of ultra-compressed mp3 files (including these), but so far I like what I’m hearing – the songs have a lot of pretty moments that seem to get lost in the sub-par sound quality, but that only gives the listener more of a reason to buy the physical album when it is released sometime in early 2008. I think that was their intention. Smart!

Let’s hear your thoughts on the record and Radiohead, in general.
