1. Former Art of the Table sous chef Derek Ronspies’s new nose-to-tail eatery Le Petit Cochon is slated to launch in Fremont Wednesday night. Housed in the former Showa space, Le Petit Cochon features a pork-centric menu paired with seasonal produce. Hours are Tuesday to Thursday from 5:30 pm to midnight and Friday and Saturday from 5:30 pm to 1:00 am, with a happy hour planned for the near future. Check Facebook for updates.
2. R.I.P. Vessel. Tan Vinh at the Seattle Times reports that the lauded downtown cocktail bar filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in August and shuttered last weekend. Vessel opened in its original location next to the 5th Avenue Theatre downtown back in 2006 and operated in that space through 2010. The former Esquire “best bar” re-opened at Seventh Ave. and Olive in August 2012.
3. Bartell Drugs in Greenwood is getting a growler fill station, according to Seattle Met. Taking a hint from the whopping success of its first brewsky dispensary in South Lake Union, Bartell plans to launch its second in-store station next month.
4. SkyCity Executive Chef Jeff Maxfield is offering diners a chance to taste the six course menu he’ll serve at a James Beard House dinner later this month in New York City. Available tomorrow through October 11, the $99 meal at the top of the Space Needle includes Cedar Paper Roasted Anderson Lamb Loin and Mocha Braised Short Ribs. Call 206-905-2100 for reservations.
