It's Starbucks' Fault!!
Posted Dec. 12, 2007 at 10:27 pm by Michael Alan Goldberg
Leave it to the crack investigative reporting of Access Hollywood to reveal why Britney Spears acts so fucking nutty. Apparently, it's all that Starbucks product she's been ingesting:
Britney’s irrational behavior — from shaving her head to attacking a car with an umbrella — can partly be attributed to her toxic diet of caffeine drinks and fast food, Brantley told Access.
“Caffeine and sugar in this drink will drive your blood sugars and hormones crazy and it can affect your mood for hours,”¯ Brantley said of a Frappuccino.

From Derek Trucks to the Sonics' Paul Westhead
Posted Oct. 1, 2007 at 2:46 pm by Chris Kornelis
Seattle Times Sports Columnist Steve Kelley wrote about the Sonics' new assistant coach, Paul Westhead, in his column on Saturday. When pointing out the difference in coaching styles between the new assistant and coach P.J. Clarlesimo, he referred to the latter's game as "a waltz by Strauss," and Westhead's "is a guitar lick from Derek Trucks."
I know nothing about Westhead's coaching style, so I'm going to go ahead and assume the comment was a compliment.
Trucks doesn't have any dates scheduled at the moment. But, if you're going to be in Atlanta on New Year's Eve, he'll be playing at the Fabulous Fox Theatre.

Black Crowes Back in Seattle

Red Rocks, 2006
Who: Black Crowes
When: Oct. 2
Where: Paramount Theatre
On Sale: Aug. 18, via Ticketmaster
Does anyone else remember how pissed off Rich Robinson was at Bumbershoot 2001? I don't think the dude looked at his well-scarfed brother the entire night.
Days earlier they played at the Fox Theater in Spokane, a show I passed on at the last minute. Every time I've seen them since — Memorial Stadium, Red Rocks (above), and White River — I've kicked myself for not catching what was surely an amazing, intimate show in Spokane. This upcoming gig at the Paramount, though I wish it was at the Moore, is probably as close as I'm going to get. And we won't have to suffer Auburn's traffic to get our fix.
Say what you will about the notoriously tumultuous brothers, it's sure to be a heavy-hitting, indie-free affair.

Just for kicks, here's a pic of Petty, who headlined the Red Rocks show in 2006. Actually, if my memory serves me right, he sold out three shows there that summer.

Eat Donuts!
Posted June 22, 2007 at 3:54 pm by Brian J Barr
Oh man...this is one hell of a delicious way to accompany an In-Store. Our own masters of self-promotion, the Saturday Knights, have an in-store schedule for tomorrow, June 23rd, 6 p.m. at the Silver Platters Queen Anne location. That's free, which is sweet enough. But there will be free Top Pot donuts to anyone willing to enter a donut eating contest and eat a shit-ton of them. I've never had much of a sweet tooth, so I'll refrain. But you should, lovely people. Yes, sign up and eat a ton of donuts. What a way to get prepped for a Saturday (k)night on the town, eh?
