Next for Bob Dylan: Nobel Peace Prize

He already has a Grammy and an Oscar to his credit; then comes word that Bob Dylan has won a Pulitzer Prize. What's next, a Nobel Peace Prize? In all seriousness, I wouldn't put it past him.

Dylan: Driving In The Flats In A Cadillac Car

I believe these Bob Dylan Cadillac commercials have been on television for a couple weeks, but I just saw it this morning on YouTube. It's hilarious! And you can call him a sell-out or a corporate whore all you want, but at the end of this video, when he's standing at the crossroads I don't believe I see him selling his soul. Oh, and notice how the Cadillac turns LEFT as it pulls onto main road...very interesting, Bobby, very innarestin'!

Blonde on Grey: Bob Dylan Turns 66

bobdylan2.jpg

The former Robert Zimmermann celebrates his 66th birthday today. Unlike fellow '60s icon Paul McCartney, Dylan has stayed out of the tabloids. He is also still recording music that matters, unlike The Rolling Stones.

Not only is Dylan topping his old chart rivals, he's had more albums out this century than his son's band The Wallflowers have. Then there are the books, the tribute albums, the "will Bob Dylan win a Nobel Prize this year" talk, and the documentaries, but it always comes back to the music. John Lennon isn't around for us to tell him how much we dig his songwriting, but Dylan is. You can still catch him on the road. Tickets to his shows are still cheaper than the Stones and the music is still better.

Happy birthday, Bob. As long as you are around, we'll still have someone to tell how the times are a-changing.
