The Secret of Throw Me the Statue

throwmethe.jpg

Throw Me the Statue mastermind Scott Reitherman.

Only five days until to REVERB Fest! Our very own festival featuring a whole roundup of the best and brightest in Seattle music is this Saturday, and you won't want to miss this chance to see all this up & coming talent in one spot, on one day in Ballard.

Speaking of which, word on the street is that REVERB performers Throw Me the Statue (who we let you know about back in August) may make the move from local label Baskerville Hill (run by TMTS frontman Scott Reitherman) to Bloomington, Indiana's Secretly Canadian, home to other Seattle act Damien Jurado as well as Jens Lekman who they'll soon hit the road with.

Don't miss their set on Saturday: 5 p.m. at Bop Street Records.

Listen to "Yucatan Gold" from TMTS's Moonbeams.

This would be an awesome move for both label and artist. I'd love to see Secretly Canadian pick up another of our locals.

Despite my reluctance for indie rock, I thoroughly enjoyed Throw Me the Statue when I saw them at the Croc. Wouldn't mind seeing them again, either.
Maybe I should get them a gig here in Moscow.

duuuuude. bout time. that band killed it with the catch at the comet. that a boy, seattle! our town has some new life again.
