Escaped Canadian Sex Offender Sean Michael Stanley Sentenced in Seattle

Last October, Canadian sex offender Michael Stanley was arrested in Seattle after getting combatitve with police following a harassment call, claiming he had a knife. He Stanley had recently escaped to the U.S. by cutting off his monitoring bracelet, and is currently still under investigation following claims that he molested a 16-year-old boy in a West Seattle alleyway.

Today, Stanley was sentenced to remain in jail until March 10, when he will become eligible for release, according to City of Seattle:

Before Municipal Court Judge Willie Gregory, Stanley admitted to the harassment charge that, while intoxicated on the morning of Oct. 22, he was making loud noises in an alley behind a residence in West Seattle. When a male victim asked him to be quiet, Stanley repeatedly threatened to beat him up, and then resisted arrest when contacted by Seattle police officers.

With credit for time served and 154 days of the 364-day sentence for harassment suspended, Stanley is eligible for release on March 10, according to jail officials. The time on the lesser charge of resisting arrest was suspended consecutive to the 210 in-custody days he received on the harassment charge, and can be revoked should Stanley violate the conditions of probation.
