Live Tonight: Halie Loren, Feezable the Germ, KT Tunstall

Halie Loren Look up “jazz singer” in the dictionary, and no doubt you’ll see Halie Loren’s picture. The Oregon-based songbird has the quintessential jazz-club voice: equal parts smooth and smoky, especially when she dips into a lower register. Her seventh studio album, Simply Love, was released last month. Jazz Alley. 7:30 p.m. $20.50. All ages. AZARIA C. PODPLESKY

Feezable the Germ This Chicago-born MC celebrates the release of his EP, The Successor of Victor Von Doom. Now a Seattle resident, the supervillain’s chill flow and clever wordplay (“Food for thought be your head as the main course”) recounts the story of his evil apprenticeship, complete with tales of Stoli, seduction, and retribution. With PROPS!, Adam Nystrom, and Keezy. Nectar Lounge. 8 p.m. $8. MICHAEL F. BERRY

KT Tunstall The melancholy first half of Tunstall’s new album, Invisible Empire/Crescent Moon, finds her working through the pain of her father’s death and her own divorce. The second half turns optimistic, but remains mellow as she comes to grips with her losses. With Brian Lopez. The Neptune. 8 p.m. $26.50/$29 DOS. MFB

Mehliana Pianist Brad Mehldau and drummer Mark Guiliana have combined their talents in a way that’s pretty novel for a couple of jazz pros: They dabble in electronic music. Their extemporaneous live performances, which find Mehldau behind an array of synths, range from Rhodes-driven jazz-rock to noisy drum ’n’ bass. Triple Door. 7 p.m. (all ages) & 9:30 p.m. (21 and over). $25 adv./$27 DOS. ANDREW GOSPE
