Seattle is on fire. Just as we are beginning to come to grips with the fact that we have the best football team on planet Earth, now comes this hot flash: We’re near the top of the charts when it comes to romance.
Amazon is out today with its Top 20 Most Romantic Cities in the U.S. – and Seattle finished second.
So which town beat us?
Oddly enough, it was San Antonio, home to the River Walk and the Battle of the Alamo, which we lost.
You got to wonder now, how long before Tony Bennett records “I Left My Heart In San Antonio.”
Oh well, at least we topped Knoxville.
Two other Washington cities finished in the top ten, Vancouver (No. 7) and Spokane )No. 9).
The dubious methodology Amazon employed in its ranking was based on sales of romance novels and relationship books; romantic comedy movies; certain romantic music, such as Dean Martin (“Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime”), Barry White and Luther Vandross; and sales of sexual wellness products.
