Live Tonight: Austin Jenckes

He’s bearded, he’s soulful, he’s earnest. He’s Duvall, Washington’s Austin Jenckes, a contestant on the most recent season of The Voice, where he made the top 10 as one of Blake Shelton’s singers. Inspired by his dad, whose guitar he sometimes plays, Jenckes is doing the right thing: striking while the iron is hot by heading out on a quick West Coast tour while he tries to figure out what kind of record he wants to make. After selling out two nights at the Crocodile, the venue added a third (Saturday), as fans who watched him on TV this fall are eager to hear some of the songs he played on the tube in person, like The Outfield’s “Your Love,” the Black Crowes’ “She Talks to Angels,” and Edwin McCain’s “I’ll Be.” Now that he lives in Nashville, this will be a homecoming of sorts for Jenckes. With Stephanie Anne Johnson (Wed.), Polecat (Thurs.), Cody Beebe & the Crooks (Sat.). The Crocodile. 8 p.m. $12–$25. DAVE LAKE
