1. Quietly opening a little more than a month back in Lower Queen Anne, Triumph Bar serves small plates and pressed sandwiches just north of Key Arena on the ground floor of apartment complex Expo. In addition to more than 300 bottles of vino, the watering hole’s cocktail program includes, “daily batches of jug juice, everything brown, and house inventions like the Rye Witch: Sazerac rye, Strega, and carbonated sherry.” Hours are 3:00 pm to 1:00 am seven days a week.
2. Longstanding 19th Ave. eateries and new kids on the block will participate in this Saturday’s 19th & Delicious Block Party. Expect live music, kid entertainment, snacks from Kingfish and Tallulah’s and sweets from Hello Robin, Molly Moon’s and more.
3. Kent-based Airways Brewing Company is getting ready to release Maylani’s Coconut Stout. “Maylani’s is the perfect fall and winter seasonal beer – dark and rich, but still highly drinkable,” says Airways founder/head brewer Alex Dittmar. The stout is scheduled to hit the shelves at specialty shops like Chucks, Beer Junction and 99 Bottles starting October 15.
4. Nosh Pit reports on just opened West Seattle eatery Quadrato. The sandwich and pizza shop’s happy endings menu includes the “Bopporino.” For the uninitiated, that’s peanut butter smeared on top of a Hostess Ding Dong.
