“The Daily Drink” brings you a must-try libation from our booze columnist Zach Geballe.
I have to admit, I have a bit of a soft spot for beer cocktails. Be it a delicious michelada, red beer, or shandy, when the weather gets nice it seems like the perfect time for a beer-tail. That said, I’d never had anything like the combination of Campari and Two Beers’ EVO IPA I had at Solo Bar. The bitterness in each individual component melded really nicely, and the orange-y sweetness of the Campari blended really well into the subtle maltiness of the beer. Plus it was a cool color!
Zach Geballe does a lot of drinking. When he’s not working at The Dahlia Lounge or for his business Vine Trainings, he’s studying for the Court of Master Sommeliers Exam. His weekly column here at Seattle Weekly, The Bar Code, endeavors to inspire, educate and sometimes poke fun at all things beer, wine and spirits related.
