The Wandering Goose and Ivar’s Seafood Cookbook Throw Release Parties

1. The release party for Heather Earnhardt’s new Sasquatch Books title, The Wandering Goose: A Modern Fable of How Love Goes is tonight at her Capitol Hill restaurant...The Wandering Goose. Original artwork by illustrator Frida Clements will be on display and southern-inspired nosh will be served. The event gets going at 7:00 pm.

2. Speaking of books, the next in a series of launch parties for Ivar’s Seafood Cookbook: The O-fish-al Guide to Cooking the Northwest Catch is happening tomorrow night at University Bookstore. Ivar’s President Bob Donegan, book contributor Jess Thomson and Ivar’s Dancing Clam (!!!) will be in attendance, with free samples served from 6:30 to 7:30 pm.

3. The Greater Seattle Business Association’s 2013 Cocktail Contest is this evening at the Paramount Theatre. Attendees can sample Broadway musical-themed specialty cocktails from several local restaurants and bars, including BOKA and Terra Plata. Eats come from Tom Douglas Restaurants. Guests are encouraged to bring a bottle of wine valued at $50 or more for auction (proceeds benefit the GSBA’s scholarship fund.) RSVP by emailing office@thegsba.org or calling 206-363-9188.

4. This Sunday, Belle Clementine and Town Hall Seattle present Monterey Bay Aquarium Executive Director Julie Packard in conversation with KUOW’s Marcie Sillman. At last check, $5 tickets were still available for the 4:30 pm discussion at the Ballard restaurant about, “our power as consumers and cooks, and our ability to support the long-term viability of the marine ecosystem.”
