Din Tai Fung Opens, Lucky Eats for the New Year, and More Food News

1. Eureka, check. Joey Kitchen, check. Liam’s, check. And now, Din Tai Fung joins a string of new restaurants that launched in University Village in late 2013. The global chain’s first Seattle location is even larger than its sizeable Bellevue sibling and features the same steamed dumplings that diners line up for on the Eastside and beyond. 2. The venerable Bagel Deli shuttered on Sunday, CHS reports. The eatery served bagels, spreads and sandwiches on 15th Ave. E for a whopping 33 years.

3. Jay Friedman writes about Miyabi 45th’s special-occasion house-made toshikoshi soba over on Serious Eats. Miyabi 45th serves its soba and handmade mochi from 4:00 pm till 1:00 am today.
