1. Taylor Shellfish is expanding. Zagat reports that the second seafood market-meets-oyster bar is slated to open in the spring of 2013 on lower level of EXPO apartments. The Taylor Shellfish location at Melrose Market in Capitol Hill is currently taking online orders for the holidays.

2. Caffe Vita is collecting donations for ROOTS Young Adult Shelter. Bring new socks, gloves or boxers to any Vita location through December 31 and you’ll receive a free 8 oz. coffee.

3. 3 Howls Distillery just produced one of a handful of hopped whiskeys made in the US. Infused with a mash of Chinook, Amarillo and Horizon hops, 3 Howls’ Hopped Whiskey releases Thursday, December 12th at a launch party from 6:00 to 11:00 pm at Unicorn on Capitol Hill.

4. Fremont’s The Barrel Thief introduces a new wine program on Black Friday. Almost every bottle on the bar’s list will be available as a pour with the help of a custom argon preservation and dispensing system. The “150 Wines by the Glass” event runs from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.
