1. Happy birthday to Mamnoon. The modern Middle Eastern eatery across from Melrose Market on Capitol Hill turns one today and is serving a special a la carte menu paired with wine and mixed drinks to celebrate. Call 206-906-9606 for reservations.

2. While we’re in the neighborhood, the Old Sage serves its second scotch dinner starting at 6:30 pm this evening. The 3-course meal is built around sips from Scotland’s Talisker and Oban regions. Reservations can be made at 206-557-7430.

3. In case you need more evidence that the mustache craze will never, ever end: Pyramid Alehouse hosts its Seattle Mustache Bash! tonight from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. In addition to food and drink specials and live music, accolades for the best whiskers in the room will be awarded by Pyramid staff, including the coveted “Professional Stache’ Award.”

4. Ethan Stowell’s Rione XIII is currently featuring chestnut pasta shaped like snails, and there’s a video to prove it.
