1. Just in time for the holiday rush, Roux is open open open in North Fremont. The wildly anticipated Cajun & Creole eatery from Where Ya At Matt’s Matthew Lewis officially launched yesterday in the former Buckaroo Tavern space at 4201 Fremont Ave N. Part of the financing for Roux came from what Lewis called, “The Louisiana Purchase”: patrons that invested in the restaurant received a gift card totaling 125% of their contribution. Expect brunch to start up in a few weeks, but hours for now are 5:00 pm to 2:00 am. You can check out Roux’s menu, ranging from $4 cheesy grits to a $50 40 oz. Porterhouse, over here.
2. In addition to a slew of local restaurants offering Thanksgiving dinner next week, Capitol Cider is planning a gluten-free pre-turkey day menu this Monday, November 25 from 5:30 to 11:00 pm. For $45, you can fill your plate with the likes of turkey, chicory salad, cornbread and sausage stuffing and sweet potato “pie” with maple granola and marshmallow and sip a glass of Finnriver Cranberry Rosehip Hard Cider. Call 206-397-2564 for reservations.
