This Weekend: Drink Beer at the Sixgill, Dine Like Downton, and More

Try a new bar. The owners of Ballard’s Noble Fir opened The Sixgill earlier this week
in Fremont. The watering hole features a seafood-heavy menu and a whole lot of
rotating beer on draft, including Finnriver Black Currant Cider and Grainstorm Black
Rye IPA.

Get out of town. The 4th Annual Snohomish Wine Festival is scheduled for
Saturday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. 20 wineries from around the state will be on-hand.

Dine like Downton. Saturday at 11 a.m. Tames Alan presents “Dining at Downton
Abbey: A Trial by Fork” at the Renton Library. Examining a 12-course meal fit for
the Crawleys, the food historian will talk about era-appropriate etiquette, menus and
more.

Join the Gin Society. The Seattle Gin Society hosts its second annual Ginvitational
this weekend. The judged tasting includes gin samples from the region and across
the country. You have to be a part of the organization to participate in the judging
tomorrow from 2 to 6 p.m. at Bastille in Ballard. Not to worry, $35 at the door covers
tasting and membership fees. More info is over here.
