Bachelorette

Tuesday, April 8

Psychedelic/ electro-pop artist Bachelorette (Annabel Alpers) recorded her album Isolation Loops in a southern New Zealand hut built by her grandfather. Sans running water and heat, the only modern-day convenience she had access to was electricity—and evidently, that sufficed. The digital maven mixed the entirety of Loops by herself while in seclusion, layering hypnotic vocals over frantic keyboard tinkling and percussion. The result showcases some heavily synthesized musings on broken hearts and alternate universes. Fasten your seatbelt and prepare for an intergalactic odyssey. With Ladies of the Night and Counselor. High Dive, 513 N. 36th St., 632-5656. 8 p.m. $5. ERIKA HOBART
