Help West Seattle celebrate one of the state's longest-running, largest, and most successful farmers markets at the Ten Year Anniversary Celebration Berry Spectacular. Making your way over the bridge will be totally worth it when you’re handed a free berry sundae made with local berries, Husky Deli Ice Cream, and Herban Feast cookies to snack on while picking out produce. The day also includes a cherry-pit-spitting contest, live music from MoZo, free recipe booklets, and a special appearance by the gigantic (and slightly terrifying) Veggie Mama puppet. If you can’t make it to the Westside on Sunday, head to your own local f.m. to get your share of the first of the season’s apricots, apriums (a apricot/plum mix), zucchini, and green beans.
